Personal web-development project

The Honeymoon Webshop

A personal way to give a honeymoon gift.

The Honeymoon Webshop project presentation

A project close to home

The Honeymoon Webshop is one of my favourite personal projects. I built its first version for my sister’s wedding: a custom website where guests could buy and personalise honeymoon gifts.

The gifts were experiences and parts of the trip, including activities and hotel stays. That gave the website a specific purpose. Guests could choose something connected to the honeymoon and add their own personal touch, making each contribution more than an item on a list.

Building a personal gift experience

I created the custom website around buying and customising those gifts. Developing it for a wedding in my own family made the project particularly personal. It was a chance to use web development for an occasion that mattered to people close to me.

The Honeymoon Webshop connected the practical act of choosing a gift with the message behind it. The activities and hotel stays gave guests a concrete connection to the couple’s plans, while customisation made room for an individual contribution.

Keeping the messages together

The presents and messages purchased through the website were displayed together in a bulletin-style collage frame. That presentation brought the contributions into one shared view, keeping the thoughtful messages alongside the gifts they accompanied.

For me, the appeal of this project is its personal starting point: a website built for my sister’s wedding, shaped around honeymoon experiences and the people giving them.
