Outside of my professional work, I enjoy exploring storytelling through videography as a hobby. For J. Meijer B.V., I produced a short celebration film marking a double milestone, the company’s 40th anniversary and the CEO’s 5-year leadership anniversary. The concept was to create an ironic, lighthearted tribute to the the boss' daily routine, fully guided by a design brief set-up by the CEO himself. Something playful and personal, that would paint a tongue-in-cheek, satirical portrait of a day in the life of the CEO while celebrating the efforts and contributions to his success by his team of extraordinarily professional co-workers. The film was shown at a large anniversary event, with a build-up to a surprise reveal: the announcement that the entire company was being treated to a trip to Disneyland Paris.
What made this project particularly special to me was its personal nature. It was created as an anniversary gift for the CEO, who also happens to be my brother-in-law 💼Luca. This gave me the opportunity to produce something deeply personal and playful, featuring my sister 💼Eline in a leading role and allowing me to experiment with storytelling, humor, and videography in a way I knew would resonate with him and his team (hence its PG-13 rating; making non-profesionalism professional).
This was never meant to be a serious production, just a fun side project that got a little out of hand. I wrote the script, directed the scenes, and edited everything myself in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, mostly for the joy of celebrating Luca and his team (and maybe to show off a bit). It was a lighthearted experiment in storytelling, timing, and tone, but honestly, I’m secretly proud of how it turned out. And here it is, on my portfolio.
